UPDATED 3/16/2020

For the remainder of the seasons DMAHA will no longer be allowing hand shake lines at the end of game.

Updated Note From Bucs:

Moving forward with play at Buccaneer Area there will now be a clipboard in each locker room for all time slots. Management at Bucs has asked that each team please sign in all the players that are present for that date/time. This will help in the tracking of numbers in and out of the arena and if a situation arises that an exposure needs to be tracked they have the information needed to contact everyone

As of now Bucs plans to stay open and allow all scheduled events to continue as planned. Please see the statement from Bucs below.

While we will be running currently scheduled leagues, we have pushed off the scheduling of any further leagues. As of right now the Spring Scramble league is on hold. We will be reevaluating with Bucs in the coming weeks.

Dear Buccaneers Fans,
The health and safety of our players, fans, guests and staff is of the utmost importance to us. We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and following recommended practices from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and local health officials from the Iowa Department of Health (IDHP) and Polk County Health (PCPH) as the situation continues to evolve.

Even though the current risk of COVID-19 remains low in the Des Moines area, we have instituted additional health and safety procedures in our arena, including the following:
•Providing hand sanitizer stations at entry points and other high traffic areas throughout the arena
•Increased cleaning and sanitizing of high traffic areas daily - i.e. railings, door handles, stairwells, restrooms, concession areas
•All locker rooms cleaned and disinfected after each use daily
•All offices cleaned and wiped daily; employees encouraged to wipe down work stations after daily use
•CDC recommended hand washing signage placed within restrooms, locker rooms and concessions
•Isolated designated area provided for any employee, fan or visitor that experiences health complaints while at the Arena

What YOU Can Do to Help
The CDC and other health experts recommend the precautions below to limit your exposure and prevent the spread of germs:
• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds – if soap and water are not available, use an alcohol‐based hand sanitizer
• When interacting with fans and strangers, avoid high-fives and offer fist-bumps instead
• Wash or sanitize your hands before eating
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
• Avoid close contact with people who are sick
• Make sure you are up to date with all routine vaccinations, including the flu vaccine
• Stay home and seek medical treatment when you are sick
• Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces

We strongly encourage everyone attending events at Buccaneer Arena to practice CDC hygiene guidelines and will keep guests informed of any changes or updates. Taking preventive steps can help to keep everyone healthy and safe.
